Automatic Cutting Speed Control System of Boom-Type Roadheader Based on Geological Strength Index

The boom-type roadheader is the foremost mining equipment in coal mines. At present, automatic cutting technology still immature for adjusting speed automatically accordance with rock strength, resulting energy dissipation. In this study, we put forward a method respect to detecting geological strength index of seam profile through visual inspection, as well characterize and control head based on inspecting fracture features rock’s surface, aiming at achieving conservation roadheader. image processing algorithm adopted joint characteristics palisades fracture, quantitative model established. fractal dimension used obtain distribution indicators seam, heading machine’s controlled automatically. A vision platform built laboratory perform ground simulation experiments. According experimental results, difference between detected inspection set value chart up 3.5%, results are basically consistent, so quantification can be performed rapidly effectively. average consumption decreases by 5.4% after adopting self-adaptation control, realizing reduction intelligent mine machinery.
